Hatcher, who led the NFL in sacks among defensive linemen last season with 11, agreed to a four-year contract worth

approximately $27 million with the Redskins, the Cowboys’ oldest foe.

The news brings an end to days of speculation about the veteran’s future, during which Hatcher visited possible

suitors across the NFL. Hatcher spoke with the Seattle Seahawks and Oakland Raiders earlier this week, and he is

allegedly scheduled to meet with the Redskins and Tennessee Titans.

“My hard effort paid off. “I just left a great organization and am now with a great organization,” Hatcher explained.

“Things change.” “I just have to take everything in stride.”

Hatcher said he didn’t rule out returning to the Cowboys, but it was evident to him he wouldn’t.

“Once me and my agent met, they showed no signs of wanting me back,” Hatcher told 105.3 The Fan Thursday

afternoon. “So I understand the fans are unhappy; they should be. But I made the proper decision for me. We could

have made it work, but I’m in a wonderful position with the Redskins, a fantastic organization.”

Hatcher was the Cowboys’ third-round pick in the 2006 NFL Draft, going No. 92 overall out of Grambling State. He

appeared in at least 13 games each year of his career, from 2006 to 2013. He didn’t make his first start until 2010,

and he didn’t become a regular starter until 2011.
