The Eagle Heights Wildlife Foundation, which cared for the North American Bald Eagle, reported to Sky Sports
News that she died after a heart attack.

EHWF had raised up to £4,000, largely from Crystal Palace fans, to aid with veterinary expenditures in an effort to
keep her healthy and pain-free.
Kayla was named the official Palace mascot in 2015, and she has been swooping around Selhurst Park before every
home game since, becoming popular with fans and club personnel.
Amie Latter, a Palace cheerleader for three years, told Sky Sports News: “Kayla was a pleasure to have at Selhurst
Park. She never ceases to amaze as you watch her soar from one goal to the next. She made the match-day experience
very memorable and will be dearly missed.”
Samantha Ames of the EHWF stated, “It is with tremendous anguish and deep sadness that we must notify you that
Kayla, our lovely Bald Eagle, passed away after suffering a deadly heart attack.
“We thank everyone who donated to her veterinary bill and care. We were able to provide her with the greatest
treatment available and know that we had done everything possible for her because of you.
“She is now at peace.” Saying she will be missed isn’t enough.
“We are beyond grief and cannot think of our lives without her, but we try to take comfort from knowing she is no
longer in pain and hope that she is soaring above us, finally reunited with her sister.”
