Taking a shot in the chin is nothing new for Green Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones, but doing so after the
game, when the two teams are meant to shake hands, is unusual.
Jones intervened in a yelling match between Packers rookie receiver Dontayvion Wicks and Minnesota Vikings
cornerback Andrew Booth as the two teams gathered for the postgame handshake following the Packers’ 33-10
victory against the Vikings at US Bank Stadium.
“I came up and he was in Wicks’ face, and as soon as I saw them cussing at each other, I walked up and got
punched in the face,” claimed Jones. “I grabbed his face mask. I attempted to de-escalate, break it up, and send
him back to his sideline.

After Jones grabbed Booth’s facemask, more Vikings players approached and joined the minor melee, but Jones
swiftly stepped back, explaining that he was simply attempting to break things up.
“I tried to shove him back on his side and some of his players saw that,” Jones was quoted as saying. “And then I
explained it to them, and they were like, ‘All right, we’re fine.’ I mean, I was breaking things up.
“I don’t have any cause to fight that man. I noticed one of my young receivers there and said, ‘I’m getting him out
of there. Let me handle them. And then I got smacked and thought, ‘Wow.'”
In the end, Jones had a sore knee and departed the stadium.
