Laurie Carr, Michigan football coach Lloyd Carr’s wife, died on Tuesday after a battle with cancer, the school
reported. She was seventy.
The Carrs married in November 1994, less than a year after Michigan football promoted its longstanding assistant
to head coach following Gary Moeller’s retirement.
Lloyd Carr, now 75, led the Wolverines for the following 13 years. During his tenure, Michigan shared the national
championship in 1997 and finished 122-40. He retired in 2007.
Three days after the Boston Blowout, the Warriors rebounded nicely, defeating the Milwaukee Bucks 125-90 on
Wednesday at Chase Center.
Stephen Curry started hot and never let up, finishing with 29 points, eight rebounds, and five assists for a plus-15
rating.
Jonathan Kuminga contributed 20 points, four rebounds, two assists, two steals, and three blocks to the Warriors’
(33-28) 14th win in 18 games. Klay Thompson scored 10 points and grabbed four rebounds after coming off the
bench. Andrew Wiggins, who returned after missing four games due to personal issues, scored three points.
Golden State remained No. 10 in the Western Conference, pulling within a half-game of the idle Dallas Mavericks
for eighth place.
The loss put a stop to Milwaukee’s six-game winning streak. The Bucks (41-22) were led by 23 points by star
Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Three days after being shut down and limited to 88 points in a 52-point loss to the Boston Celtics at TD Garden,
the Warriors scored 40 points in the opening quarter against the Bucks and 78 by halftime.
Milwaukee came out strong in the second half, pulling within six points, 83-77, midway through the third quarter,
but Golden State settled down and drew away.
Kuminga’s progress this season has been critical to the Warriors’ success, and the rookie forward was in top form
against the Bucks.
