The amount of free agency signings and trade acquisitions in the NBA has decreased as the offseason is now reaching
its lull toward the end of July. However, with the arrival of two new elite players, fans of the Texas Legends, the G
League affiliate of the Dallas Mavericks, have enough to cheer about.
The Legends announced on Tuesday that they had hired a new general manager and head coach, both of whom were
affiliated with the Mavericks. Terry Sullivan will take over as the next general manager in Frisco, while Jordan Sears
will become the seventh head coach in Legends history.
After serving as the head video coordinator for the Mavs for the last two seasons, Sears joins the Legends. Before
moving to Dallas, Sears was a player development assistant for the Milwaukee Bucks, where he worked with players
like Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Both Sears and Sullivan expressed their joy about their new roles with the Legends in an official news release to the
media.
“I’m excited to be here in Frisco to support the growth of our players, staff, and team,” Sears remarked. “I’ve heard
about the Legends’ exceptional experience, amazing fan following, and community-focused approach. Being able to
join a team that is committed to working hard and having fun while doing so presents me with a fantastic
opportunity to grow both personally and professionally in such a positive, encouraging environment.
Sullivan had worked for the Mavericks for 13 years when he gets to Frisco. Sullivan concluded his inaugural season
as the Mavs’ Director of Player Personnel this past season, a position he will hold concurrently with his new position as General Manager of the Legends.
