Lewis Hall is reportedly interested in joining Crystal Palace on loan from Newcastle United. The teen’s move to St
James’ Park last summer ended Crystal Palace’s aspirations of signing him. Though Hall’s Chelsea loan hasn’t been
turned into a permanent one yet, that is anticipated to happen before the season ends and Hall will join the Magpies
on a long-term basis.
However, Hall has only made 11 appearances in all competitions since moving to the northeast, and he hasn’t been
used as a substitute in any of their previous six Premier League games. Due to his lack of playing time, there have
been rumors that Hall would be permitted to temporarily depart Tyneside for the upcoming season in an effort to
prevent St. James’ Park from stunting his growth.
The team that could provide Hall with a path back to playing football for the first team is Palace. Wing-backs are
used in a three-at-the-back formation under new manager Oliver Glasner, a position that could work well for Hall.
Eddie Howe stated on Friday that he still believes Lewis Hall will play at St. James’ Park when discussing the player:
“In my mind, I’m preparing for Lewis to be at Newcastle for many years.” He was never brought in with the intention
of signing a contract for the short term. He’s a committed player.
We have been putting a lot of effort into helping him improve his game since we have always believed in him and his
abilities. He’s a young man with great talent.
Like all the guys, he still needs to work on a few things. I have faith in him. In my opinion, he will stay at Newcastle
for a very long time.
