In another major move in NFL free agency, the Pittsburgh Steelers have signed outstanding linebacker Patrick
Queen, formerly of the Baltimore Ravens, to a free-agent contract. Russell Wilson, the new quarterback, is really
motivated!
ESPN NFL reporter Adam Schefter tweeted on Tuesday, “Filed from @mspears96: Ravens free-agent LB Patrick
Queen told @mspears96 that he plans to sign a three-year, $41 million contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers.”
For the Steelers, who have a lengthy history of fielding dominant inside linebackers, this is a huge concern. Plus, it
debilitates one of their rivals in the AFC North.
Among the defensive gems available to NFL free agents this offseason was Queen. This season, the 2020 Ravens
first-round selection was selected to the second team All-Pro and made his first Pro Bowl. Plus, he packs the stat
sheet in a manner that not many other off-ball linebackers can. 454 tackles, 37 tackles for a loss, 33 quarterback hits,
15 passes defended, four interceptions, five forced fumbles, six fumble recoveries, and 13.5 sacks are all records for
Queen in four seasons.
The signing of the Steelers Following their impressive Russell Wilson swing, Patrick Queen provides superstar TJ
Watt with a star player on the next level of the defense. In addition, Queen has joined the Steelers linebacker corps,
one of the most prestigious groupings in NFL history.
The post was held by Hall of Famers like Jack Lambert and Jack Ham prior to Queen donning the black and yellow.
Pro Bowl players like James Farrior, Levon Kirkland, Lawrence Timmons, and LaMarr Woodley were all standouts
during their Steel Curtain defense incarnations in more recent times.
