On Wednesday, the Buffalo Bills made many significant roster moves, including the cap-saving dismissal of several
important players.
Safety Jordan Poyer, center Mitch Morse, defensive back Siran Neal, wide receiver Deonte Harty, and running back
Nyheim Hines were all released, according to the organization.
Multiple reports state that the organization also intends to release cornerback Tre’Davious White. But White’s salary
cap figure won’t leave the Bills’ records until after June 1. The news of White’s approaching release was first reported
by ESPN.
Furthermore, according to ESPN, the Bills reworked linebacker Von Miller’s deal, freeing up over $8 million in
salary cap space.
The league’s salary cap increased by a “unprecedented” $30 million for the 2024 season; yet, the Bills had to make
some difficult decisions in order to free up cap space. The organization will free up almost $36 million in salary cap
space as a result of the release of those six players. Teams must comply with the 2024 salary cap by March 13th,
which is the start of the new league year.
White and Poyer, two important players on the Bills defense, were all first-team All-Pro selections throughout their
careers. After being chosen by the Philadelphia Eagles in the seventh round of the 2013 NFL Draft, Poyer moved to
Buffalo in 2017 and quickly become one of the league’s best safeties. White was an NFL draft selection by the Bills in
the first round of the 2017 class, but injuries ended his first three seasons in the league.
