Less than two months after publicly accusing him of cheating, former NFL linebacker Ryan Shazier and his wife Michelle have formally filed for divorce, according to TMZ.
The first story from TMZ was based on court filings that were submitted on Wednesday.
The two had two sons together and were wed in 2019, just two years after Ryan’s football career was cut short due to a spinal injury.
Michelle first accused Ryan of being a “liar and a cheater” in November after learning that he was having an affair with an Ohioan lady who was both a sports reporter and a lawyer.
She also posted numerous texts between Ryan and the woman on social media, going all out to expose the affair.
A guy who is devoted to his family would do this to his wife, who has supported him from the beginning! The epitome of infidelity! Michelle wrote a caption for her since-deleted photo.
She went on, “I can’t sit here and keep hiding anymore.” “You’re welcome to have it.” Better is due to me. “This is Ryan… he is dishonest and deceitful!”
Ryan also emailed links to books named “The Ultimate Guide To Anal Sex For Women” and “Blow By Blow: A Step-by-Step Guide On How To Give Blow Jobs So Explosive That He Will Be Willing To Do Anything For You,” according to one of the screenshots of the text messages.
Ryan told TMZ after the first incident, “Michelle and I have been living apart and are currently separated.”
“I ask for privacy and prayers as we work through what’s next for our family.”
