Checo Perez has had disagreements with Max Verstappen at Red Bull, as his teammate’s decisions frequently contradict the Mexican driver. However, Verstappen is the team’s number one driver, having won Formula One twice.
As a result, Perez may join another team for the upcoming Formula One season, despite the fact that his contract with Red Bull expires in 2024.
According to journalist Pedro Fermin, Checo could be replaced by Lando Norris, who is currently driving for McLaren. However, Norris has also piqued Ferrari’s interest, so it is unclear whether he will join Red Bull.
Fermin has stated that these rumors are unjust to Perez, and that the F1 driver deserves the chance to show what he is capable of.
“I think it doesn’t do any good that they start creating these leaks,” he said.
“I don’t think Checo deserves all of this. He ought to be supported and given every opportunity to demonstrate his ability to put Verstappen in difficulties.
“If Norris accepts the offer, Checo will go. Checo would be offered a position at Sauber as a member of the team when Audi arrived.”
