INJURY NEWS: 49ers all time NFL star player serious injury has make him to…

In their victory over the Lions, the 49ers came away with nearly no injuries. Here are the two starters who have been

nicked.

In their NFC championship victory over the Detroit Lions, the San Francisco 49ers came close to being injury-free.

Fortunately, only two key starters suffered injuries. Kyle Shanahan stated on Monday’s conference call that Ambry

Thomas (ankle) and George Kittle (toe) were injured during the game. Shanahan stated that both players are being

treated on a “day-to-day” basis this week, thus the injuries are not considered serious.

A great sense of relief there. The 49ers cannot afford to get hit by the injury bug as they prepare to meet the Kansas

City Chiefs in the Super Bowl in a repeat from four years ago. Now, Thomas did depart the game due to an injury,

forcing safety Logan Ryan to play the slot. His injury could have been worse, but thankfully it is minor. The 49ers

should be entirely healthy heading into the Super Bowl.

And because the game isn’t until two weeks from now, the 49ers have plenty of time to rest. Shanahan gave some

light on what to expect from the 49ers this week.

“We got them in today. They’re still inside right now. We are simply wrapping up this game right now. “We will give

them the next two days off,” Shanahan stated. “Then we’ll begin our practice week and game strategy on Thursday,

Friday, and Saturday. So, when the players return from their two-day break on Thursday, we should have the game

plan ready.”

I don’t expect Kittle or Thomas to miss practice this week. At worst, their options will be constrained. Regardless, the

49ers must be overjoyed that no one sustained an injury that would keep them out of the big game.
