JUST NOW: Green Bay Packers are one of the favorites to win Super Bowl 59.
According to topbet.com, the Packers have the sixth-best odds to win the Super Bowl next season (+1600). The only
NFC teams with better odds are Detroit (+700) and San Francisco (+600).
That means if you put $10 on Green Bay to win Super Bowl LIX and they win the Lombardi Trophy, you’ll win $160.
“The expectations going into this season are not going to be the same expectations going into next season,” LaFleur
stated during his season-ending press conference. “And they’ve earned that, but you’d better put in the effort because
nothing is guaranteed.
In 2023, the Packers featured the league’s youngest team and replaced future Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron
Rodgers with first-year starter Jordan Love. When the season started, most analysts predicted that the Packers
would finish last in the NFC North.
Instead, Green Bay finished second in its division, received a wildcard playoff berth, and defeated Dallas 48-32 in
their postseason opener. According to at least one criterion, the Packers were the youngest team to win a playoff
game since the merger of the AFL and NFL in 1970.
Green Bay then led eventual NFC champion San Francisco for much of their NFC divisional playoff game, but the
49ers rallied late and won 24-21.
The Packers are anticipated to retain the vast majority of their young roster, with 11 draft picks (five of the first 91),
and should have money to spend in free agency.
When the season concluded, Green Bay general manager Brian Gutekunst was asked if winning the Super Bowl
would be the expectation in 2024.
“I think it has always been (the expectation),” Gutekunst remarked. “I do not think it ever left.
“You know, with 5 minutes left in that (San Francisco) game, I believe we knew exactly where we were going. So, I
don’t believe that will ever change here. I mean, it is the only goal. We aren’t interested in much else.”
